Well, hi again. I finally got around to performing the mod. I followed the tutorial, except for the AM disable part. I really can't figure out why AM is turned off in extended channel range :? I left this part out and everything seems to be working OK.

40-th channel...yeah...no good news there ...

Yep, I'll do that...at the moment I'm trying to put my mind around the LED display, and trying to find the best way to manipulate it. It seems to be a common anode (I might be wrong) display...the channel selector switches earth where and when needed. Turning a required segment on and off myself ...
